A rack mount frame is a specialized metal enclosure designed to hold and organize electronic equipment in a standard size known as a rack unit (RU). The frame is typically made of steel or aluminum and consists of a series of vertical columns or posts, which are spaced at intervals of 19 inches (48.26 cm) or 23 inches (58.42 cm) apart.Electronic equipment such as servers, switches, routers, audio and video equipment, and other network devices are designed to fit within the standardized rack unit sizes. They can be mounted within the frame using screws or other hardware that aligns with the mounting holes on the equipment.
